PROGRAMS

An individual family orientation

A family moving to another country for a few years would benefit greatly from one of our cross-cultural orientations. Our family orientations can be complemented with telephone settling-in support.

The following areas are often included in a program:

  • History and politics
  • Culture shock
  • Business culture, i.e. management style, negotiations and corporate culture
  • Spousal adjustment
  • Teen adjustment
  • Practical issues
  • Reverse culture shock

The goal is to:

  • Facilitate the adjustment to a new culture and work environment
  • Reduce culture shock and reverse culture shock
  • Increase expatriate performance
  • Minimize the risk of a premature return home

A corporate global awareness orientation

A corporation that will have increased contacts with individuals from another culture should provide a cross-cultural awareness program to their employees. An orientation would be highly beneficial to those individuals in the company who will have increased interactions with people from another culture. We often address the following areas:

  • Business values and practices
  • Management and negotiation styles
  • Corporate culture

The objective is to:

  • Make corporate personnel more aware of the differences in cultures
  • Increase your understanding of why people do things differently
  • Find the underlying cause for why things are done differently
  • Minimize the risk for cultural faux-pas
